Thinking about buying a boat with a 69 Johnson

I am looking at a boat with a 1969 Johnson 65HP. Its a 3 cylinder he told me its a 2 stroke.

He told me it runs great but I have not herd it myself.

The motor looks extremly clean for a 69, I was wondering besides as compression test what else I should do or look for..?

Looks are deceiving! Do a compression check! Hear it run with some muffs on it and make sure the water impeller operating with no over heat issues. Make sure it shifts well. Be prepared to rebuild the carbs and possibly the fuel pump, replace the old fuel lines with ethanol compatible lines. GET A MANUAL!
