Re: thing on trailer

I have seen similar to this on a few trailers. They were a combination of rollers and bunks. I asked one owner what it was for. He said it was to assist launching at shallow boat launches. By raising the roller, it takes some of the weight off the bunks and allows you to push the boat off the trailer more easily.

Ranger bass boats has a similar set up for their big rigs. A separate winch on the tongue pulls a chain which raises the center rollers.

Maybe someone else has another use for it.
