that was exactly what i was thinking.. i really would like to see a launching in person. being as i am way landlocked i figure i'll have to travel a long way to see that...

I am sure there is a logical (cost) reason, but it sure seems more violent than necessary. Why can't they extend the ramp some, slow their slide a little and limit the wave? Maybe it's just cooler this way, but still seems odd.
