Thermostat replacment help 77 115hp

I have a Sevoc manuel for my 77 Evinrude 115 HP M/N 115793 B after not runnning this motor for several years{ the previous owner said since 01} I finaly got this motor started and runs great but the powerhead stays cold, I pulled the hose from the head one at a time to make sure it's pumping and I have a healthly amounts of water coming out of both hoses. I need to replace both hoses they are soft and the thremostat. I never did it before and the manuel is no help I could use some pointers please.......

Bet there's no thermostat at all in there. Lots of people pull them out instead of replacing them when they're needed.<br /><br />Your Evinrude will run a lot better after you get a thermostat(s) back in it.

The 2 bolts look crusty on the thermostat. I sprayed them with PB Blaster hopefully they wont snap.

You might want to also pull the "T" cover off and check the bypass valve and springs. Make sure the are still servicable.
