thermostat location

This may sound dumb but I don't see a likely location for the thermostat on my Tohatsu 25A.

I hope the head doesn't have to be pulled off to get at it. Please advise.

Why do you need a new thermostat? Is your motor overheating? Is the telltale flowing? The stat on the MFS25A is near the top of the block, on the port side. See items 2, 3, and 4 in the diagram.

Thanks for the reply. I found it yesterday and changed it out (was all corroded). Still not pissing at all and the hole is not blocked. Didn't think it would be the impeller because I changed all the pump components just 8 months ago. I will change again and see what happens. What else could it be?

Probably nothing wrong at all. While the engine is running, insert a wire into the **** tube and see if it is just clogged up.

FWIW, the thermostat has no effect on the telltale. As Elvin said, odds are that the telltale is clogged.
