thermostat change on water?

is this OK. boats in the water for the summer. indmar 350 LTR (generic chevy small block) 2002 in a v-drive mastercraft. i don't want to be "that guy" who sank his boat by pulling the wrong hose off. thanks.

I'm thinking that the thermostat housing is in the intake manifold on that? If so it should be well above the waterline on a Mastercraft and you should have no problem. (You might have a cup or two of water come out of the hoses etc.) Just don't let any hoses drop way down into the bottom of the bilge for hours on end.
