Quick question guys, yesterday I just got done taking the power head off my 79 chrysler 115, only to find the source of all my overheating was the brass water tube had a big crack in it. I posted the results in another post lastnight. Anyways I put the powerhead back on today and it ran cool enough for me to be able to touch the head but I seem to have forgoten where the wires for the overheat buzzer go. I think one went the the orange wire that goes to the thermal switch but I really cant remember where the other one went. Seeing how I have had an overheating problem that is hopefully fixed now I would really like to make sure this thing is wired up correctly. I dont really want to test it out by overheating the motor on purpose. If someone could just tell me where the wires should be attached it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: Thermal Sensor

The orange wire coming off of the theromswitch goes to your engine's main wiring block, from there the wiring harness connects with it's own orange wire connected to the wiring block and then goes to the overheat light/buzzer as the ground, another wire would run from the other terminal of your light/buzzer to 12 volt power source. (The orange wire may run to your ignition switch, but you can wire directly to your warning device.) Hope this makes sense.

Re: Thermal Sensor

Ok I think I got it, I appreciate the response. I should have took a picture or drew a diagram, but like an idiot I got in a hurry. But in the end with some good advise from some nice people and some solid info that you guys have provided I got her put back together and I think it will run ok. I ran it in the drive on the muffs for about 10 min, 5 at idle and 5 at 2k and it never got to hot to not touch the head so I think Im good to go. Thanks again.:D
