So yesterday I hit the lake with a coworker to try our hand at catching some crappie. We staged the boat and he offered to back me in and I'd pick him up at the dock. I tossed him my truck keys and jumped into the boat. He backed me in, boat started, I backed off the trailer, he started to pull up, and the bucket of minnows we had forgotten to transfer into the boat tipped over on the floor of my truck. I wondered why it took so long for him to come back down to the dock. He said he was pretty sure he had gotten them all. We loaded a few hours later and it didn't smell. I gave a quick check again after getting home and didn't see anything. Today I almost fell over when I opened the truck door. One little guy had spent the night in there. He had gotten in a cut in the carpet meant for wiring to come through. I ran a carpet cleaner on the floor of the truck and the floor mats today, let it air out for a while, and then tried the cotton balls in vanilla extract trick. The truck still smells horrible. I guess I'll just have to keep airing it out as much as possible and keep doing more of the same. I might start walking. I can't be the first one to have done this, anybody else have any tips on getting the fish stink out of my truck?
