anyone know the weight of a long shaft johnson 8 hp? this model is an mid 80s sailmaster.

Being former colonists here in the States, we tend to prefer Church of England measurements to Roman Catholic Sounds like it weighs about 60 lbs., or 4.3 stone I can't believe they still use crazy, old timey standards for weights and measures like "stone" in Britain. Then again they have about 45 different coins, so I guess it's not that weird. Anyone got a farthing, or a couple 'a quid they can spare?

I have a 15 hp outboard...that weighs the same as a 9.9 hp outboard.... if i was thinking of getting a lighter motor, but still get soemthing with power...i was considering the 8 hp... but it only weighs about 10 lbs less than a simialr shaft 9.9-15hp!!

its not worth giving up double the HP to save 10 lbs...so Ill just use the 15 hp outboard.
