I have a Lowe 1440m that I am doing lots of work to on the inside. Decks on front and back , flooring and trolling motor. I have a 1985 Evinrude 15hp motor that is just the bomb. It has a 9 1x2 x 10 prop. I runs great and I could not ask for better. My question is will I benefit from a different prop size with all the added weight? My boat is a lot heavier now and I have not had it in the water yet as I am still working on it. I had an older man that claims to work on outboards tell me not to use a stainless prop on these omc motors because the lower units were weak. I want to get another prop just to have an extra and wanted to get some opinions from others that have this motor. I would like to get a stainless prop but not at the expense of a lower unit.

You need to run it and get WOT data, then we can make recommendations.

Any reason you want an SS prop?

There is a nice aluminum four blade 10 X 9 OEM prop that is for heavy loads - part # 176266.

I wouldn't get too excited until I put the boat in the water and test it. If you were that happy with the performance of it before it should still be pretty close to what you had.
