Pretty darn funny, staged or not. I've tried using that expanding foam in a spray can to repair some roof leaks, and I can say it's some very sticky, messy stuff! I'm sure it's great for the right application, but the stuff seems to just keep growing, gets all aver everything, kinda like that old horror movie called "The Blob".

Re: The power of expanding foam!

We had a contractor replace the doors and windows in our house. I had a couple of cans of the spray stuff and decided to ?insulate? between the door frames and house framing. I was proud of my job and opened a beer. Soon after I noticed the door frames bowing in toward the door and the door would not close! I spent the next three hours digging the cured foam back out of where I sprayed it. That was the last time I used it.

Live and learn..

They make low expanding foam for use in door and window installs.

I used the canned foam to insulate/strengthen the hollow plastic lid on my cooler. I drilled holes in the bottom or inside to guage the expansion, it worked great, except I innadvertently? drilled through both sides of a corner of the lid and quickly pumped a basketball sized blob of foam through the lid into the kitchen sink where I was holding it flat! it sticks very well to stainless steel.

I"ve seen that stuff lift a bathtub filled with water. Tub installer was using it to bed the tub to isolate the floor from vibrations from the whirlpool pump. Musta used too much foam- next morning tub was pushed up about 6". I've personally found the stuff to be annoying to work with. Sticky and hard to control out of the can.
