Love the old woodies. That looks fantastic.

I still remember going to summer camp on Skaneateles lake years ago. They had an old Chris Craft woody they took us out on. I wish I had that boat today.

Beautiful!

(I'd suggest going easy on the throttle with the much hp, her bottom is pretty lightly built. I suspect 40 - 50 hp should be plenty for her.)

Yeah, I love the look of those old woodies. How about those wood bench seats-- almost like being in church :D

I believe you can still buy these boats brand new from the Giesler factory in Powassan, Ontario, Canada. Check out the website at giesler.ca .

I have a French River model which has been in the family since it was built in 1971. I had some work done on the keel in 1995, and toured the factory at that time. It was like a journey into the past. They were using the same basic forms and tools their father used in the heyday of cedar strip boats.

Yes you can still buy these brand new if you so chose to.They still build them like back in the old days and if you look at the cost of boats today their actually a very good buy.I also have a 14 footer thats proably about 60 odd years old.Lucky for me i have a friend that can redo these and im learning fast!Post a picture of the frenchy.
