The wife and I are out on the lake today, when we go to trailer up there are two boats tied to the one boat dock at the ramp. I jump off the bow of opur boat and head to get my trailer while my wife turns circles.
When I get back the dang boats are still there, just parked and full of kids. So I back my trailer up as far to the side of the ramp (away from the dock) that I can get, hoping I don't put her into the ditch on the other side.
Once back, I get out and take a look. Everything looks like it will be fine so I wave my wife in. She's coming in perfect, slow and straight. About two feet from my trailer uprights (posts) she paniks and cranks the wheel around, away from the dock. There goes my sterndrive, scrapping down one of the boats and smack into my trailer.
After yelling for a bit, I took a deep breath, pushed the boat back off the trailer, and pulled the bow around by hand; then winched it up. Gave the kid my insurance info and headed home.
If I've told my wife once, I've told her a hundred times....it doesn't steer from the front!
