This evening as I came home I heard the distinctive "peep peep" sounds of the Frogs Of Spring (deep voice with reverb). Or at least what I like to call the frogs of spring. To me, this is a sure sign that spring is near, if not at hand.

Time to reshuffle my schedule once again, and get to that boat work that I've been putting off.

Our frogs are still ice bound, but I am hearing more birds. That's very encouraging!!

any you frog lovers know how to wire up an extra battery to my trolln motor so in case one battery goes "DEAD", I can flip a switch and have my spare battery kick in so I wont be " LEFT FOR

DEAD" in the middle of the harbour entrance? EDIT: emails not allowed. TD
from iboats4me, thanks

no frogs croaking here. i don't think nebraska has a lot of frogs though... i do hear the bids starting to sing more though.... but not today, an hour ago it was -1*F, now it's 2*F.. burrrrr... gonna be 50 or 60 by midweek though...

just went and looked at 2 old boat logs... got out on march 25th in 07, april 4 in 08... so around 4 weeks maybe, if i'm lucky...

Well we had the frogs singing here. But...mother nature has thrown us a curveball....forecast for today....

This is the fourth snowfall of the year. Very rare for this area to see snow like this. Guess I will be confined to the garage today, instead of fishing like the last two Sundays.:(

No frogs yet but the mockingbirds are singing. That's our sign around here. There's one scoping out a tree outside my bedroom window right now and boy is he excited when the sun comes up!

-like having a rooster with an identity crisis.:D

I don't know if it's the same where y'all at but here, I gauge it by the number of roadkills. The more dead skunks, possums, raccoons I see on the highway, the closer it is to spring.

Hey man, quit showing off! Nice one david. I'm hitting the water this weekend. The water temp probably be in the upper 30's so I won't get to throw a trap just yet. Most likely be vertical jigging a silver buddy.

Well, they started up on Friday again. Even though this spring seems quite late, they are only about a week later than last year. Seems like a month, though.
