The color of gear lube in the out drive.....

I have a question. I change the gear lube in the out drive on my OMC 800 series every season. When I put it in its nice and clear and when I remove it, it is black! Why is that? Does the exhaust go trough there and discolor it?

No exhaust should go through it. Sounds like you are "burning it". Sure you are using the right weight. <br />This sounds like a job for LubeDude or what ever he goes by now.
