Who here has seen the bug zappers shaped like a racket?? I'm sure some of you have seen them out on the market.. You know it's a good thing... and intertaining also.. The fly comes in for a good look and Zap they don't know what hit them. Plus, it like blows them up in the process for easy cleaning..
This works also on people who have never seen one.. Like me.. Ya, I had to touch it.. Zapped me good too.. I got zapped in the arm and leg a couple of times..
But then it was my turn to have some fun. So while the one who was doing the Zapping on me got Zapped in the End.. Wearing shorts is not a good thing when sitting on a Zapper. Nailed both legs and got some good ol'fashioned screaming curse words to boot...
The Zapper also works on the kids.. They can stay intertained for at least an hour with 2 of these in the right hands of course..
They are great for camping too.. Fishing... Boating or to just get even with a friend...

The also make them in a "safe" version, now...nowhere as much fun, but still pretty effective.

--Sportsman's Guide has the new-style zappers.
--Harbor Freight Tools has both - order from the catalog and you get the safe ones; go to a HF outlet and you can get the FUN ones.
--American Science and Surplus has the FUN ones also ( www.sciplus.com ) This catalog is very dangerous if you like to tinker, or are just into unusual items.

Those bug zappers are a blast.
Of course I had to touch one too. It got me good!
We only get them here, when the fair is on. I might just order one off of the net.
It is a must for the joker in everyone. :D :D :D

Yeah BD but the first one makes it alot easier to deliver the coup de gras. It's kinda like putting the boxer on the mat after a good uppercut. :D

I noticed one in the harbor freight catalog a few days ago, was wondering if it worked. My first thought was "hmmmm...I wonder what else it would electrocute". :D

I already have an old BBQ lighter with wires coming out of it for such mischief. ;)

Tee hee....you'll find that the ignition circuit from an old gas cooker is much more fun....

There was one on my boat when I got it. I was a little skeptical of how well this 'bogus tennis racket' could work. I held the trigger down for 10 seconds or so and then touched it with my wetted index finger. Holy crap! I don't do that anymore :)

Wimperdink -

From the ad, that looks like the good one.

FYI
- The Safe one has a yellow plastic grid on the outside (looking more like a traditional tennis raquet), and there are three metal grids inside - the "hot" one is in the middle and the "ground " ones sandwich it, just like in a regular backyard bug-zapper.

- The FUN one merely has parallel wires that are alternately "hot" and "ground". No protective plastic grid or safe grid arrangement.

Nos4r2 - another homemade alternative is the flash circuit from a disposable 35mm camera. . .

Bassy - It's very easy to run up the credit card there - BE CAREFUL!!!

BD - I'm suprised you haven't posted anything over on my "Practical Jokes" thread yet...
