Hi,

I have regal 2150 LSc with volvo 4.3 SX, the planing is slow when you have 4 people in the boat (when i`m alone in the boat its very nicer)
I was searching the net and i come up with http://www.rocketflap.com
non hidraulic flaps, but for my bad luck thay have stoped the production for some reasons, could you reffer to me some other brand for non-hidraylic flaps, and what is your opinion on those kind of flaps, are they OK to use?

Thank you.

Rocket Flaps are made by a company in the UK. The idea was clever but lacked overall performance characteristics and did not address the need for maintenance very well. The idea was to fill the actuator cylinder with water then as the boat accelerated the plate would compress the water in the cylinder and a bleeder valve then released the water slowly. This provided some lift to the stern on take off and allowed the tabs to retract once on plane. The down side is that they provide no adjustment so the 15' boat with a 30 hp motor got the same lift as the 21' boat with a 240 HP I/O. The other down side was that the inside of the cylinders could and would collect growths such as barnacles (salt water especially) which would disable the valves and seals (I would assume). Then the system was very expensive ($300.00 + I think). High maintenance, high cost, and minimal performance benefits. I think they are trying to sell the company or patent.
