I've been in the North Atlantic during storms, those waves were big enough for me.

Don't think I would want to power up or power down the back side of that 19m behemoth!

Maybe a buoy malfunction?? What he said ^^^ :peep:

I can believe it. When I was out there the troughs were so deep we would lose sight of the other ships transiting with us. Nothing but a wall of water in front and a wall of water behind.

Was pretty rough coming around the tip of South America with waves above the bridge wings on my ice breaker. A Carrier is about 60 feet above the water

AllDodge - in the video they got an "egg beater" strapped down on the front of the deck. Do you know why so far out? Wave washed over it pretty good and I can't imagine that was good for the bird. That's right in between the cats too (I think).

My dad was stationed aboard Kitty Hawk, well, being an airdale it was only for deployment, but he and another guy fell over board at the same time. They recovered him, never found the other guy.
I can't imagine why they would put a helo so far forward in foul weather, unless they wanted a new one!

... which wouldn't be out of the question. I've heard crazier.

I could even be that the crew scrambled to get down before the weather hit, and that's as far as they could get the thing safely strapped. Just thought it was interesting.
