Hi all

Silly season approaches in Sydney, with the weather warming up, it is time to awaken the Force ( and fix that bloody tilt trim), but more on starting her again after about 12 months sitting, anyone have any tips to start her again after such a long lay off?

Check the Engine FAQs for "Awakening a sleeping outboard", mate.

Cheers.

Hi

I checked the engine FAQ's- is it in the Force specific, or somewhwre else on the site....... I might try the search engine and see what happens;-)

Found it!!

It was pretty specific, so I will ask some advice.

I replaced the waterpump less than 12 months ago, and it has had 4 trips. Replaces lower unit oil at the same time, link & sync, timing, plugs etc.

Is ity just a case of taking the plugs out, lube the cylinder walls with oil, turn by hand, inspect electricals ( visual) and start it ( using the key and choke method as described by Frank), then concentrate on the hydraulics for the tilt/trim?? Would anybody replace anything else or check anything else??

Start it and try things out. If it all works, no need for further conversations other than, what did you catch?

I envy you, with warmer weather and another season of boating getting underway. All our boat here in the northeast US are all tuck away for a long, harsh and cold winter.
