We have learned alot here and want to thank everyone who reponded to our posts..Our 1977 85HP Johnson seems to be back to normal. For folks who are having slugish accelleration or idle problems I would say.... Make sure you have a compression gauge and a spark tester.. We found a small hole in the head gasket (thanks to the compression gauge) and a coil that was not firing at high speed ( thanks to the spark tester... Keep up the good work... Dan and Maria
