Re: thanks for not ansering my question!

There are numerous reasons I don't respond to a post and they usually are oriented around the fact that I have no concrete information to offer you and I would rather leave it be than send you off on a wild goose chase.

Sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong. When wrong I normally apologize and support the correct answer. The least I can do. Glad you were successful and now you know more about your engine than you would have if we helped you and I'd take that as a definite asset.

IMO, that's what you should've done in the first place. Don't get mad at these fine people because you were too impatient to figure it out yourself. These people have jobs and are not paid to give you service advice.

You were able to read the posts here regarding your issue and found the answer. That in itself shows you are capable of finding what you need. The issue with no one responding may be as above- no one knew exactly and thus did not answer. Not every question has an answer at any given time. I've asked questions before and not gotten any answers because no one at that time had info. Yes, I have also searched and found my answer. And yes, the people here are great as is the site. Loads of info as evidenced by your success. No need to get nasty.

Re: thanks for not ansering my question!

What everybody else said about not giving an answer if you aren't sure beyond a reasonable doubt...

Plus on a "good day", new threads can quickly get displaced by other new threads, making it so the people in the know don't answer your post, because they don't know it exists.

If your thread goes unanswered for a day or two, nothing wrong with giving it a bump.

If you feel as though we were ignoring your thread on purpose, and we're just a bunch of self serving jerks, you are welcome to ask for your iBoats membership fee back... :D ;)

Remember jesus lives here, as people have been resurrecting old posts for quite a while now, in two years somebody will respond to your question wondering if you ever figured it out

Next time you are waiting for an answer why don't you spend some time with a dictionary. A properly worded (and punctuated) question might get more answers.

Sorry, I, as well as some of the others here, have G'kids and sometimes can't get on here for a few days.

Or 12, like when my leg blew up and the Dr's kept my young ***** locked up for 12 days and made sure my kidneys started working again. I don't remember the first week. They said it was a week before I knew where, or who, I was.

Is it just me, or is this thread getting stranger with each post?

Re: thanks for not ansering my question!

sounds like a "thanks for nothing"! but as others have said, on a busy day in the forum, any post can get lost in the shuffle, i guarantee that if anyone that could have offered advice, saw your post, they would have tried to help.
you still havent re-mentioned the original problem, and how it was rectified .

Re: thanks for not ansering my question!

let me explain, I bought a sea ray boat with an 1988 merc 135, it would not run. I did a compression test 125lbs on all 6. So I rebuilt carbs, fuelpump, removed oil injection replaced t-stats. I took it to the lake it ran fine but it seemed to have a miss. when I pulled plugs one was clean like it had been missfiring, so I replaced coil and wire, It had fire testing in the yard at idle so I took it to the lake, It ran for about 15 min started missing real bad then died. time to buy a dva adapter. Ifound both switchboxes to be bad. replaced them with CDI boxes, Started and sounded great in the yard, took it to the lake, It still had a miss so I shut it down and took it home. I used the troubleshooting guide that came with cdi boxes and found the key switch to be bad. So I replaced it and also rectifier. Took it to the lake, wow what a difference, But it still seemed to be surging, That is where my question came in do I disconnect idle stabilizer and reset timing? because Ithought I read that some where. when Ididnt get an answer thats when I started digging into the forum. And found I had answered my own question.Idid just that did the float test with idle stabilizer and reset timing to 23 degrees. went to the lake and now it runs fantastic! So if it wasent for this forum I would be lost. My post was not ment to be offensive and I apoligise to any that were offended, thank you again to all. Skip

Good save. LOL. You are forgiven, at least by me next time don't hesitate to give the post a bump if you don't get anything right away. I'm glad you were able to find what you needed and got the old girl running!
