Striper time! Plan to launch at Eisenhower Park at the crack 'o dawn & look for topwater action then head down to Table Top & the islands. I'll be on the lookout for diving birds & bending rods. Got a collection of slabs & sassy shads. My greatest fear is getting skunked; any advice? Walleyehead, you busy Saturday?

Fish alone. Noboby will know if you get skunked. Do you know that lake well?

I spent fri thru mon. with some friends from Kansas. We caught (6 of us) 276 "keepers".
Caney creek south...25-40ft. look for the gulls and fish with slabs "near", not "under" the gulls and pick up the bigger fish on the outer skirts of the huge schools.
We caught 21 fish over 10lbs..., alot of 5-8lb'ers, and the rest were the 1-3lb "eaters".
I would LOVE to help you out but I'm leaving tomarrow for NW Kansas for the Pheasant season opener...

EDIT: We did catch a few on table top and some good sized ones near roads end, east of soldiers creek, in 10-12ft of water casting #9 shadraps.

thanks, kenny! that's two spots not mentioned on the 6OG site. Good luck with the birds! What do your best slabs look like, if you don't mind saying?

LOL, fatpratt, too late, already got a partner. I been up there a few times over the years including a couple guided trips. Come on up if you can - I expect we can find fish by following the boats & birds.

Walleyehed here, just getting ready to chase Pheasants in the am...
6OG don't come back west very far...if they make it to roads end, they covered some water.
Prune picker in Chart/wht works good, but I like the 4", 1-1/2oz. Buzz Bomb in Flame Chartreuse from Cabela's. Another "Go-to" bait is the Cabela's realimage jig-n-spoon in Nickel/neon green. 2oz. with that one seems to work quite well.
Too bad you ain't got NEXT weekend to play...
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Kenny
