Here is a link with tons of info.

http://www.sixoldgeezers.com/

If you need fishing tackle that works well on this lake go to LeFlores Bait and Tackle in Kingston, Ok. Go early in the day when Kevin is there and ask him what is performing. He has the best prices and selection and knows what is working currently.

walleyhed don't live there now but use to. I have put in at willfala woods ramp and there should be a point going back toward the dam. I use to troll from the dam along the edge of the point to about two or three hundred yards along that side. But there are good stripper fishing in that lake just about every where. There used to be a bait shop on the texas side of the dam and that was where all the good fishing info came from.

If you change your mind later about using a guide and want a reference for one let me know.
My boat is a pleasure boat and does not lend itself well to fishing. I have hired different guides over the years and had good luck with all of them.
If you need a place to stay and put in at I would recommend Buncombe Creek Marina. Good ramp, excellent fish cleaning facilities and great camping/rv sites. They also rent cabins. All this within 100 yards or so of the ramp.
Good people to do business with.

Hello again! Leaving a week from today for Texoma, and was curious as to any updates anyone may have, as this will be my first attempt at this lake.
It's about a 1200 mile drive for me and I have 5 days to "find the fish" so-ta-speak.
I have gotten info from sites you have given me, I'm just trying to stay up with the fishing success expected......... :) :)

walleyehed, i've never fished there but as you probably already know, the stripers will be running close by the shad. you find the shad, you'll find the stripers. i know that at night time shad like to school up around lights, so if you do some night fishing, cast around the lighted docks. i'm sure you'll do good!

ps. bring a throw net & throw it at night under the lights. you'll have some good bait then! good luck bud. :)

walleyehed,
The sixoldgeezers website is excellent. Also bring some binoculars and look for seagulls actively feeding - it means a school of stripers is chasing shad up from below. You won't see the birds 100% of the time but when you do it's a sure thing. Jig a slab just at the depth of the thermocline - you'll limit out by lunchtime on five to eight pounders with a couple really big ones thrown in.

good luck,
jtw

Catfish, I didn't get to go.........2 days before leaving, my buddy that was going with me was diagnosed with cancer. Kinda put the stop to things as far as the trip goes, and yet, makes a guy wonder how long do ya really have to do what ya want???????????
Better days.... :(
Kenny

p.s. I've had a bad attitude every since then, and even find myself hard to get along with.........fish while you can, buddy.......
