I am heading to Texoma this coming weekend. I doubt I get a chance to fish much, but just in case I can anyone give me some good areas to try. I'll be camping at Juniper Point.

Also, what's biting?

the ultimate authority for striper fishing on fishing lake texoma is www.sixoldgeezers.com

here's some spots where I've caught fish:

slabs (like the ones pictured on sixoldgeezers) and 4-inch sassy shad are usually the bait of choice, or live shad if you've got a suitable tank.

good luck & post your results.....

Re: Texoma Fishing

I tried 4" and 5" sassy shads as well as a few other lures, but had no luck. Didn't have much time to actually fish do to time restraints and rough water on Sat, but I do really appreciate the input and I hope to make it back there sometime fairly soon. According to my GPS, the actual driving time isn't too bad. I just have to make too many stops with a 2 year old!

Thanks again!!

Re: Texoma Fishing

keep an eye on the sixoldgeezers site, also www.texasfishingforum.com

except on the calmest days, I usually stay west of the islands - my boat don't handle that big water too well. cedar mills marina is good for launching in big mineral creek. I try to get up there 2-3 times a year.

Just look for the three B's: boats, birds and bait - you'll find the fish!

West of the islands is where I spent most of my time and yes, it was a lot calmer over there. We camped in Juniper Point. I just didn't have enough consistant time to spend on fishing! I only got a few minutes here and there!

I'll keep an eye on that site and try to post again, when I figure out when I will get another chance to head that way again!
