I heard that now with trailer inspection being required (over a certain weight) that to register a homemade trailer you have to go to the DPS office and get a weight cert etc. I run homemade plates on a couple of my watercraft trailers. I know none of them are stolen and I've always just risked getting caught running them on a mfg trailer. Maybe I will be ok if the weight I reported when I originally got the homemade tags is low enough? Just curious if anyone has dealt with this so far this year.

You're on your own with this one..... iboats, and members of this forum, will not comment on any illegal activity that another member wants to partake in.....

The trailers are not stolen, and the state still gets their registration money. I'm not going to stop using a perfectly good trailer over paperwork.

Probably too many people taking advantage of the loophole registering stolen trailers as homemade.

Well, Guys - This is going to go nowhere. The OP says he will continue to take his chances. That is his choice, so I don't know he even bothered posting.

As WIMUSKY said, iboats and the forum won't be offering unheeded guidance.

:closed_2: is the best avenue for the forum.
