My fuel gauge is not reading although I have at least 1/2 tank of gas. When I turn the key on gauge moves slightly. I grounded the wires to the gauge and the gauge reads full. How can I test the sender? Thanks

Remove the sender and check the ohms of the sender and see if it changes as you raise or lower the arm.

It could be as simple as the float coming off the sender arm, that metal rod won't float very well.

Thanks Don, I just installed a new tank and figured the sender should work! I guess up comes the floor again.

How about just making a little access hole where the sender is located?
