Other boats I've had I've used the ear muff attachment hooked to the garden hose. This boat dies not have the water intake I'm used to. There is a cap, garden hose size on the intermediate housing. Also looks like the intake is at the bottom of the lower section of the outdrive. What's the proper way to test the engine with a water hose in my driveway.

Originally the flush out kit came with a double female garden hose adapter, a washing machine hose is better. You can run the engine all day with the flush out if you want. Be sure to have the cap on the flush out when you put the boat in the water.

Thanks a bunch. I'm anxious to fire it up after a quadrajet rebuild. You wouldn't happen to know what could be wrong with the clutch in the tilt housing if the out drive drops back down when i lift it? I replaced a shear pin at the worm gear and put everything back together and the spur gear turns when I hit the switch but it won't lift the outdrive.
