I would like to try other prop pitches and diameters on my outboard. do I just have to buy a prop and see how it goes, or are marinas willing to let me test drive it first? It would be an expensive experiment if I am wrong on the dimensions. thank you for any input

If it's expensive for you it's expensive for a marina too. And believe it or not, most marina don't have that much actual knowledge about fine tuning a set up. There's a lot more to it than just changing props. Besides - most people, and I bet you're included, are leary about paying a new price for a prop that's already been run.

The closest thing I've seen to a "try-n-buy" deal is what's here at iboats with their exchange program.
