show up at the lake, wind goes from nothing to gale force

pressure fuel tank for my trolling motor I just rebuilt leaks, really more like spews fuel skyward when pressurized...

I figure, well I just did a bunch of work on the trolling motor I'll go run it anyway, re-pitched the prop, new plugs, wires etc.. I want to test it out.

get about 300 yards from the dock and it dies and won't re-start.

come back to the dock in the wind and slip grabbing the dock, land knee first on the rivets in the bow ripping a hole in my brand new hip waders (didn't hodgedon used to be decent stuff before coleman bought them? Now it's crap)

thankfully I carry an electric and a spare deep cycle "just in case" to get back as I was about the only moron out there fighting the wind today.

ugh. Boat is literally on craigslist now LOL

True!

Since it cost me $100 to fill up my tow vehicle and the tank for the trolling motor, and it's about 80 miles round trip, it seems like I have more trips like today than not. Starting to think it's just not worth the expense and hassle. It beats working anyway. People are a little "jumpy" around there with all the overblown BS about it on the news.

Well, at least I didn't sink.

LOL the day just keeps getting better. Needed to change out an oil drain valve on my diesel car, that of course involves the simple task of draining the oil, preferably into a container, then removing the old valve and replacing with the new one. In the process I managed to flip the drain hose off the nipple on the old valve, slinging diesel oil all over my face, head, driveway. That stuff is like ink. I know- the car leaked all 5 qts of it onto my driveway a few weeks ago. Hence the new valve

Its time to crack enough beers open until you force yourself to sleep, wake up and try and have better luck tomorrow... :)
