I am wondering what type of terminals /connectors to use for marine. I am also wondering if I can use regular heat shrink tubing or is there something special to look for?

use heat shrink crimp connections.... they have hot melt glue inside and are 100% water proof

Although tempting, don't use solder on connections. It makes them brittle during vibrations and they break. Standard solderless crimp connections with heat shrink tubing if the others aren't available or if you're in a pinch.

I like these...I copied from their website. Sold right here on iboats for a good price.....Good Luck!

ANCOR supplies a full line of nylon insulated, tinned copper terminals for the highest quality electrical system. ANCOR Marine Grade™ terminals differ from "automotive" terminals by being designed specifically for the harsh marine environment. Our nylon insulators are easy to crimp and will not split. Our barrels are designed to tightly grip the wire with the least effort. Our tinned copper gives the least electrical resistance but the most corrosion protection.

Thanks fellas, was wondering if I should use plain crimpies or solder, I looked at the connectors they have on iboats and like what I see. Guess I'll go with them.

More important than the terminal is the type of wire that you're running. ALWAYS use marine grade cable. Always.

NOT like one boat I rewired that was full of speaker wire and lamp cord which powered a lot of the accessories. 2 days of rewiring fixed it, but good god...
