i can't say how they compare to other trailers, but they are under mine & my parents dynatrak 17.5ft fiberglass bassboats.<br />i haven't looked at the decal lately, but i believe they're made out of Soddy-Daisy TN. ours are 5" channel painted. my parents bought their boat new in 85, and had no problems. my 82 i've had 3-4yrs, no problems.<br />we've taken their rig from Chatt,TN to Kissimmee,FL 3 times, mine has less travel(by me).<br />don't know about the trailers for pontoon boats tho, sorry<br />if i had more time i'd try to help look up info, but gotta go
