Does anybody know if there is a cheaper "temporary" lighting system that will appease the local po-po dept. yet not bury me financially? I am going to be trading in my car soon & trying not to do the whole wiring harness thing to the car just to trade it off in a few months. However, a temporary bicycle flasher affixed to the license plate has produced nothing more than a ticket...Any suggestions would be appreciated.

trailer, hence thread title "temporary trailer lights". My car, Dodge Avenger, has perfectly functioning lights.

You said "I am going to be trading in my car soon & trying not to do the whole wiring harness thing to the car just to trade it off in a few months." So what does that have to do with trailer lights? Are you getting another trailer too?

How much for the ticket? A trailer light kit can be found for less than $30.

Don't think "cheap & boats" go together. lol Seriously, I don't know of any way to hook up trailer lights without tapping into the car wiring harness somewhere. Although, I've not seen them for years, U-Haul used to have 1157 tail light bulbs with wires soldered to them. You just replaced your bulbs with theirs and hooked up the trailer connector to the wires. There I go again, showing my age. Now, they just have an adapters that plugs into the vehicle wiring harness. Not exactly cheap, but easy to hook up.

Trailer has working lights. Car has no plug in/kit to accommodate them. Last time I checked it was around $70, but I will do some research & try to find one under $30. If so, worth it to keep the pork from grazing...Thanks GA...

check your state's laws. Many states do not require lights for daytime use if you use hand signals or if car lights are not obstructed by trailer.
