Guys,
I found a good deal on a lightly used mercury tempest plus 21P/14.625 diameter prop. I am wondering if it would be a good fit for my boat.
1. 2010 Monterey 194fs (v bottom runabout--20' long, 8'4" beam, and about 3300 lbs).
2. Mercruiser 5.0 with 220 hp.
3. Alpha one gen 2 (1.62 ratio).
4. Current prop is mercury black max 21P/14.25 diameter (never been damaged or repaired, no chips or knicks on the blades)
5. WOT is 4500 rpm at gps verified 47 mph.
6. At sea level and typically lightly loaded 4 adults.
6. Only watersports are occasional water skier (160 lb male on slalom ski) or tuber
7. Boat was new to me last year. I am generally happy with the performance as-is, just looking for a bit better all around performance and the durability of the stainless prop.
I have read a lot about the tempest plus being for bass boats and outboards. Any idea if the hub kit I currently have for the black max will work with the tempest plus? Thank in advance for your input.
