Temperature sensor location

I bought two sensors just need gauges I here people saying to put them in the upper part of the cylinder but is there a more accurate place?

The best place to install them is the water jacket near the thermostats. 2 temp gauges is overkill, IMO. Actually, a water pressure gauge is better than a temp gauge, for an outboard.
