Temperature Sensor 3.0 L Cobra OMC Engine

I would like to know where the temp sender unit is located in this engine. I looked in my manual already but is does not show. I have a problem with the temp gauge, the needle is all the way to the left. Any suggestions?

Cooling system tip. The thermostat housing has 5/8 ??? hole that allows water to enter the block, this hole will close up completly with rust. If you have any over heating at all, check this hole, can be cleaned with drill bit, by hand.
