Temperature problem with Volvo 5.0 osi-f gas engine

Have (2) VP engines. Stb. gauge registers hot and trips alarm. Installed new thermostat & sea water pump impeller-no change. Switched therm. housing sensors -no change. Jumped wires,now port gauge reads hot and stb. gauge reads normal. Help!

Based on your process of elimination seems that you have a bad sending wire... simple to replace, one connection on the temp sender and one on the gauge. Worth buying the same guage marine wire with appropriate fittings as well as some shrink wrap for the connections
