Temperature alarm goes off as soon as you turn on the ignition.

Good afternoon, I had a medical condition and my bass boat sat covered in the garage for 3 years. Yesterday, I replaced the dead battery, drained all the old fuel and put on the muffs to let it run. As soon as you turn the key to the start position, the temperature alarm starts sounding. No way it’s too hot, I haven’t even started it. What should I check?

I apologize, the engine is a 1992 Johnson V4, 120 hp. This should have been in my original post. Before now, the alarm would just beep, then quit, as soon as the engine started. Thanks in advance

any chance the temp sensor wiring is grounded (chaffed) ??

Disconnect the sensor and check. But your VRO flow sensor and tank sensor are connected to that.

Assuming you still have your bro you might want to bleed out your oil lines coming from the tank.
