Have a typical 350 chevy. Installed a new sending unit, neither of my guages would work. Called the store and they said it was for a guage and not an idiot light. So I went to another shop and bought another one for a guage. Put it on and it didn't work either. You say it is in the wiring? Well when I short out the wire, it does peg both of my guages. (one at the bridge and the one in the cabin) So being frustrated, I decided to put the old on my new motor. It worked fine. Now my Question 
Does a sending unit have to be designed for two guages? or does it matter? If anything with the old one working, I'll use it until it dies, but I want to be prepared to ask for the right thing. Thanks
