I have a 3.0 lx 1995 model The temp gauge is not working. I have checked the wiring fron the sending unit to the gauge and it is good.

I want to check the sending unit next. With a ohm meter whar kind of reading should I get when cold and warm. Any other suggestions? Will one fron the autoparts store work or is this a marine specific part?

Thanks Brian

Re: Temp gauge problems

Go to this Teleflex website, down the middle section it has troubleshooting guides. Find the Water Temperature Systems I/O's. It will tell how to check out your gauge and then resistance checks for the sender. You will to replace with a marine sender if that is the problem. Teleflex Gauge Troubleshooting

Re: Temp gauge problems

Remove the wire from the sender, touch it to a good ground (Have the ignition switch to the run position), if the gauge pegs to the hot side, you have a bad sender.
