Temp Gauge Necessary

I just purchased an 18 ft fish and Ski with a 150 merc. and there is no temp gauge. I realize there is a temp warning beep, but is the damage done once the temp beep occurs?? Also is there an opinion on having a water pressure gauge. I guess i'm just taken by suprise - though it should have temp as a minimum. I just sold a bass boat with full gauges (Temp, trim, W - Pressure).

Any opinion welcome.

SMurphy

Re: Temp Gauge Necessary

I don't think you need a temp gauge but I would have a water gauge. Very ez to install just put a tee in the **** line and run it to the gauge.
next issue: if you have a alarm going off check to make sure your motor is pissing if not you need to get the water pump changed

good luck

I say you could go with both. I'm like being able to look at my temp gauge and know whats going on back there. They're cheap and simple to install. Little temp sending unit bolts on to your cylinder head and 1 wire runs from the sending unit to the guage. Cake job!
