temp gauge for omc outboard??

where do i get a temp gauge ? i had a pair on a C.G. rescue boat i was on in the mid 80s. the engines were twin johnson 90 hp. near as i remember the sending unit was mounted to the outside of the head water jacket, held in place with a small piece of metal attached to 1 bolt from the water jacket. id like to put one on the new engine i'm building.

There's a couple of different kinds of temp gauge set-ups available. One has a bimetalic sending unit that attaches under a head bolt. If I were going to install one I would go with the other type that actully is in the water jacket measuring water temp. Instead of a temp gauge, I oppted to use a water pressure gauge.<br /><br />g'luck & c/6<br /><br />Hooty
