Tell tale on Mercruiser inboard?

Not a problem as such, but...

I have a Mercruiser 1.7 diesel inboard with an Alpha one Leg

My main concern is that I am always paranoid that the raw water system may not be pumping (Although I know it is, as the engine never overheats). It's just paranoia I know, but when I had an outboard I had the re-assurance of being able to see a tell tale p1ssing out the back

Is there a mod available to install a tell tale on an inboard engine?

alt, I understsnd where you are coming from. Instead of looking at the stream of water, just keep you eye on the temp gauge. Not knowing the year of your boat, most newer boats have an audioable(sp) alarm that goes off when the temp starts to get hot. You might be able to go that route.

kbetts - The boat/engine is a 2004.

There is a temp gauge on it that works very well! The normal operating temp is 82 degrees, the alarm DOES work as some idiot decided to start the engine when I left the keys in the ignition one time with no coolant! The alarm started to shout and the temp light came on.

I was just wondering if there was a mod available, it would be cool to have water shooting out the stern into the water like on jet skis!

Alt, the only tell tail is the exhaust and water that comes out on the lower part of the transom shield. Since this will be under water you won't be able to see it. I'm with bond-o, I don't know of any mods like that.

I had this same concern. To solve it, I added EGT probes to both risers and a twin pyro gauge to watch it with. It gives me peace of mind, and a considerable head start over when I would see it in the water temp...
