Tell-Tale modification on 225 'Rude?

I have a 1996 225 OMC with the tell-tale that screws in the center. My problem is this: I have low water pickup and this thing constantly stops up. Can I drill this out some or ad a bigger hose via a fitting in its place? Thanks in advance....

.i dont know but d hadley or faztbullett .know a good bit about the large rudes .im in denham springs see your post sometimes. they will probaly catch it . nice boat you got there ,

Thanks Benny. Maybe someone will hit on it eventually. I hope because i'm tired of pulling this thing apart in the water. That was a poor design in the first place. A friend has a Johnson 200 with the regular side pickups and he constantly has problems also. We both idled through a rock wier the other day and we both stopped up with sand.

hey commonarc send faztbullett a pm he a good guy and really knows those engines and mods he may have missed that post because he works alot .
good luck man im putting and older crossflow together know 150 mid 175 powerhead on a 17 ft mckee craft give me a holla sometime were pretty close area wize .
