Well I decided to replace the original steering on my 15 year old boat. I installed a new Teleflex 4.2 sterring helm and bought a new steering wheel to install. I'm having a hard time installing the new steering wheel, there doesn't seem to be a slot on the helm shaft for the key (see pic of shaft and key). Also the steering wheel doesn't have slots like the shaft. I also tried to just install with no key and the wheel just spins around and doesn't bite. Did I buy the wrong steering wheel ? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated !
