Teeth whiteners...

My 74 year-old mouth is looking its age...

I have a number of crowns, some natural enamel, but all with discoloration. The routine dental cleaning helps, but not nearly enough. When I inquire about options with my dentist (and my prior dentist) I get a litany of prohibitively expensive options most of which involve replacement with partials, etc.. They may be right, but.....

My history with dentists (doctors too) suggests that these guys are simply technicians trying to make a living and, while I respect their technical knowledge, I can't always accept their judgement.

So I'm asking the forum members whether any of you have had good luck with teeth whitening applications, either by dentists or over-the-counter.

Thanks in advance, guys.

For simplicity sake, have you tried good ole' fashioned baking soda? I haven't messed with anything else, but my teeth aren't too bad ... yet.

^^^^^mixed with H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide 3%) to toothpaste consistency. Brush and rinse with H2O2, don't swallow. I had bleeding gums every brush until this discovery.

I'll try the backing soda and peroxide.

I remember when getting as old as possible was the goal. Now I'm not so sure...!
