don't like to triple post, but wanted to post that the engine now seems to be running good had to replace flywheel key. also had to replace a impeller to get some water pumping, and now i have reverse but forward seems to be slipping or not working at all. probably try to fix that too, any tips about checking the gears, prop, etc... would be greatly appreciated and thanks again for all the help so far.
