I tried to upload photos but it failed
Anyway. Just trying to find out about this carburetor on the TC-135A
I tried adjusting idle by screwing in the spring loaded gold screw. Looks like an idle screw. Located top left side of carb. It didn’t do anything when I did this. I ended up adjusting the throttle arm linkage and that seamed to do it. Just wondering what that screw is used for?
I’m a novice at outboard engines
Thanks for any help

What year and motor HP are we talking about? The spring loaded screw is referred to as Idle Fuel/Air Mixture adjustment screw. It does not set your idle rpm. Instead, it sets how rich the fuel-air mixture will be at idle rpm. Usually, this is set at 1 to 1.5 turn out from slightly seated. DO NOT SET IT BELOW 1 TURN OUT FROM LIGHTLY SEATED, as this will cause lean idle and can cause piston problems. Anyways, for setting idle rpm, there's a screw with a lock nut at the bottom of the timing tower.
