tapping sound

There is a tapping noise coming from what sounds like the lower unit of my 2007 volvo penta. The drive is a duo prop. The sound is only present when the boat is idling. When I put it in neutral and rev the engine the sound goes away, also the sound will go away when the drive is engaged. Any suggestions??
