Now that I have finished the cd14, my first fix it project done with your help, I have found a Johnson7.5hp, 1956 ? I think , but am having a terrible time finding a pressure tank for it. Had an add in craigslist and have had several calls saying that they have a tank. Problem is that the tanks must be gold lined having prices from $50 to $100 . Can someone assist with information about conversion to a single line, the cost and difficulty of doing the conversion to a pulse type system.

$50 is pretty standard for a working tank. Similar to the cost of getting a mikuni pump but a lot less work. I use the pressure tanks all the time and have never had a problem.

Depends on where you are. Pressure tanks are pretty common "up north", but nearly extinct down here in the swamp. FYI, a new plug-on hose connector on a pressure tank retails for $100. By the time you find a used tank, pay the postage, clean it, restore the primer, replace the hose, etc., etc., $100 isn't so bad.
