Hi
I think I have a problem with my tandem equalizer, but this is my first tandem so I'm not sure. The trailer is sitting under a '78 Anthony 23' Daycruiser with a 454/berkeley setup. The trailer is a RoadRunner.
The right side equalizer sits level when on level ground, but the left side always has the rear spring much higher. The equalizer is usually at a 30*-45* angle. I had 2 blowouts at the left rear position on the return of a recent boating trip (275 miles each way) I tried jacking the front spring up slightly at the equalizer - thought maybe it was stuck - but it moved up, and back down when I let the jack down.
Is this normal or is there something wrong here?
Thanks much!!
Jeff

Re: Tandem equalizer

Did one one your springs "snap" over center. The shackles (the two pieces of flat metal) that attach to the equalizer end of your springs, should be equalizer on the bottom then the shackle then the spring.

DougV>
